100% Ready for Ministry
The new ministry theme for '20-'21 is taken from Mark 12:30. “And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” This verse sets the tone for the Christian life and will be the at the core of FCA ministry events and activities all year. It was to be the theme for the summer camp season, but sadly the COVID-19 pandemic took these ministry opportunities away from us. During this season of “missed opportunities” your FCA staff here in FLINT River never stopped doing ministry. Our methods had to shift but we continued serving and caring for the coaches and athletes relationally and virtually.
As part of this continued ministry, we want to THANK YOU for your continued support. Our team has been able to sustain ministry through different avenues because of your faithfulness to invest in the ministry of FCA and specifically the Flint River team. We have worked diligently to steward these resources, ensuring we honored every gift offered to our ministry. We recognize that each gift is a sacrifice and are humbled by them. It is our aim to “live lives worthy of our calling” and see to it that every investment in us bears fruit in the kingdom of God. During the time away from normal sporting activities our team has led virtual Bible studies, served coaches dinners, made and delivered (with social distancing procedure) gifts, cookies, and even hosted a baby shower. Ministry NEVER stopped.
Sporting events and athletic events are restarting. Teams are practicing. Games are being scheduled. Coaches are caring for their athletes. As teams begin to restart their normal athletic processes, our FCA staff is eager to re-engage them with Christ centered ministry on the field, in the gym, and on the courts. We are actively recruiting more Character Coaches with a goal to double this ministry force in the next school year.
All of these ministry initiatives are only made possible because of your grace! We are reminded of this constantly and will never stop being grateful for each supporter. We pray for you. We love you. And we are honored to serve the coaches and athletes in the Flint River area on your behalf.
